I thought it was time for a new icon. And honestly, what better way to celebrate the birthday of the fabulous Ms. Joan Collins?

I know this isn't exactly new, but I still kind of died a little on the inside seeing this on the really big screen at Berlin last week.

Death From Above 1979 - Sexy Results (MSTRKRFT Mix) |
] |
How many people have you truly loved? I've always wanted the best for everyone in my life. Except one person: Bombita. She was in the fifth grade with me. She can die.
Say you wake up in the middle of the night and we're putting all your shoes in a bag. What would you do? [Laughs] I'd pull out my pistol, and as I'm cocking the handle back, I'd tell you very nicely, "Put. The. Shoes. Back." I think you would put the shoes back.
What habit do you have that other people find annoying? I'm late all the time. I have no perception of time. Time is for white people.
Who is your fantasy man? Batman. We'd go to Whole Foods and hold hands and take a shot of wheatgrass together. We'd go up the the counter, and he'd pay. I'd have an invisible jet, so we'd fly away - leave the car there, let Robin take care of it - and kiss in midair. We wouldn't care who sees.
What does a kiss from you cost now? You have to change gods and wear crochet pants. You haven't heard about me?

The whole not smoking thing is getting easier, but I don't really want to get over confidant.
I'm currently downloading AutoCAD because I am completely unable to get any work done while I'm at school.
They changed the music at work again. Funkytown has made it back into the rotation, along with the Strokes and The White Stripes. There's also some Disturbed and Evanescence, which is kind of strange for a grocery store.
Somebody told me I look like Emile Hirsch. It's cool being Speed Racer and all, but I don't really see it, do you? He's not a bad looking guy, but it kind of looks like he has a little touch of the Downs in a lot of his pictures.

Solee - Different |

So the Nicoderm CQ box mentioned "vivid dreams" as a possible side effect if worn overnight, and goddamn if that isn't right. It's been a long time since I've had dreams that powerful. I know most of it is my mind trying to cope with not having the physical need for a cigarette while trying to work around my psychological need for one, but still.
Not only were the dreams very vivid, but I remembered every single one when I woke up. That hasn't happened for a long time. Usually I'll remember the last dream I have before waking up, but not anything before that. Most of the details are hazy now, but I remember the first one took place in my old house in Downers Grove. My parents decided to drive down there to look at the house, since it was back up on the market. My sister and I decided to tag along. I've had a few dreams about my old house and the town, and this one was pretty similar. My dad drove like a fucking maniac down Ogden Avenue, which in my dream, had expanded to a eight lane highway. It was also fall for some reason, because I remember commenting on the foliage of the Morton Arboretum, which isn't in Downers Grove or even on Ogden Ave. but whatever. We turn onto Maple Ave. but we're driving down it like we were coming from the other side of town. We pass my old elementary school and there are a ton of kids riding their bikes in the middle of the street, weaving in and out of the traffic.
We drive around the old neighborhood a bit more and finally end up at the house which looks completely different. For some reason, it looks like one of the three flats that was on Chicago Ave. a few blocks away. Undeterred, we walk in and while the layout is pretty much the same, everything about the house is completely different. All the furniture is still there, but it looks like it hasn't been touched for a few years. I go upstairs with my dad and look around one of the bedrooms. He tells me to start feeling along the wall, but he won't tell me what I should be looking for. I run my hands along the faded wallpaper and I realize there is a doorknob underneath my hand. With that realization, the wallpaper rolls up like a roman shade revealing a door. I walk through it and I'm in another bedroom that didn't exist in our house with my sister. We sit on the bed and talk for a while while watching the sun set through a huge picture window. Somehow, I find a cupcake and start eating it. My sister says that gross because it's probably been there for a few years, but I tell her I don't care.
My mom comes into the room and tells us we need to get going because she has to get back up to Libertyville because Amanda Lepore is going to be at the Firkin. I don't say anything, but I'm a little upset that my mom didn't invite me to go with and I know if I ask, she'll say no. At this point I start to wake up, but I hear my mom talking on a cell phone telling someone how fierce Amanda Lepore is.

Out of context this isn't really all that funny, but if you've followed any of the Pruane2Forever crap on YouTube, it becomes pretty entertaining.
